A natural symbiosis
‘Waste’ is a commodity generally considered by society to have reached the end of its useful life. It is this view that is wasteful, because the substances we as a society throw away often have a potential use, and a value. Gasrec is able to capture the value inherent in bio-organic waste by reducing the cost-burden it represents to society and to companies and putting it to good use in the creation of a clean fuel.

Waste collection
Waste in a landfill usually represents a cost in terms of safe and regulation-compliant disposal, but Gasrec is able to use that waste to create value. The accumulation of large amounts of waste is increasingly limited by regulation and often carries a penalty for industry, and may in future do so for the private citizen.
The Gasrec process can be applied to landfill sites, where bio-organic waste is found in combination with other forms of waste, and reduces the environmental damage that landfill can cause. This reduces cost to everyone involved in the collection and disposal of waste. The Gasrec process can also be applied to gas streams produced by purpose-built digesters intended for bio-organic waste alone. This latter step decreases the volumes of waste going to landfill, saving society and companies yet more money.
From the moment that waste is earmarked for Gasrec’s process, the collector of that waste, whether municipal or corporate, can be assured that a proportion of the negative environmental impact their waste may have had will be mitigated by the Gasrec process.
Waste decomposition
Decomposition of bio-organic waste produces methane. Left untreated, methane is extremely harmful to the atmosphere (21 times more so than carbon dioxide), so in channelling this bi- product of decomposition through its process, Gasrec creates value whilst minimizing companies’ costs of compliance and protecting the environment,
Biogas production
The production process employed by Gasrec purifies the landfill gas it takes in at the outset, removing and disposing of elements that would render the final fuel less clean. The creation of biogas is the step at which a valuable product emerges from the waste stream. Not only does Gasrec reduce waste, it creates a product that reduces the need to deplete the world’s finite fossil fuel energy sources.
Vehicle fuel or fuel for heat and power
The product that Gasrec creates from waste, liquid biomethane (LBM), has cleaner burn characteristics than traditional fossil fuels, adding a further element of value to operators of fleets or managers of buildings conscious of their environmental impact and offers a reduction in their carbon footprint..
The Gasrec process of value capture can be realised by some companies in a closed loop, in that the agencies responsible for waste collection, whether municipal or corporate, can use the fuel product to power the vehicles they use to transport the waste, as well as the buildings they operate from. These companies can realise to the full the Gasrec opportunity.
